Two Mexican nationals were rescued early Sunday by the U.S. Coast Guard about two miles out to sea south of San Diego, authorities said.

The two were on a capsized personal watercraft just south of the U.S.-Mexico border. They were spotted by an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter dispatched by the Coast Guard station in San Diego.

About 1:15 a.m., the helicopter deployed a rescue swimmer to assist the two in being hoisted to the Jayhawk.

The two were taken to the Border Patrol station for questioning. There were no reports of anything found in the water besides the two and their overturned watercraft.
