Boyfriend arrested in slaying of Monterey Park woman
A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of his girlfriend in Monterey Park on Friday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect, Daniel Hernandez, is being held without bail at Men’s Central Jail, authorities said. He is the boyfriend of the victim, Jacqueline Alamillo, 23.
Monterey Park police responded to a request from family members for a welfare check at a residence in the 1700 block of College View Drive about 4:30 a.m. Friday. Once they entered the residence, officers found Alamillo dead inside one of the bedrooms.
It was not disclosed how she may have died.
An hour later, officers responded to a call of a man acting suspicious in traffic, screaming at passing cars. Officers learned Hernandez was Alamillo’s boyfriend after his arrest.
The investigation is ongoing.
