Woman found dead in West Hollywood trash bin
A woman was found dead Wednesday in a West Hollywood trash bin across the street from Cedars-Sinai Hospital, authorities said.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded about noon to the 8700 block of Beverly Boulevard behind the site of the former Jerry’s Famous Deli and discovered the woman, according to Deputy Ryan Rouzan.
An unidentified person walked into the West Hollywood sheriff’s station earlier Wednesday and reported a dead person in the trash bin, sheriff’s Sgt. Marcelo Quintero told KTLA-TV Channel 5.
It’s unclear how the woman died. Detectives were investigating but declined to specify if it was a suicide, homicide or natural death.
Investigators believe the woman frequented the area near the former restaurant, which closed in 2013, Quintero said.
An investigator with the Los Angeles County coroner’s office responded to the scene and is expected to transfer the woman’s body to the morgue by 10 p.m.
