Woman, possibly homeless, found dead on Beverly Hills sidewalk
A woman who may have been homeless was found dead Monday morning on the sidewalk near the offices of a prominent luxury real estate firm in Beverly Hills, authorities said.
Beverly Hills police were called to the 200 block of North Canon Drive about 8:25 a.m., said Lt. Mike Hill.
The woman was found on the sidewalk near the offices of Hilton & Hyland, the upmarket real estate brokerage co-founded by hotel heir Rick Hilton, authorities said. The street, in a wealthy shopping district, is also home to Mastro’s Steakhouse.
Investigators have identified the woman but could not release her name pending notification of family members, said Lt. Larry Dietz of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Police in the wealthy enclave are looking into what led to her death. The investigation is ongoing.
“She may have been homeless, but it’s hard to say for sure,” Hill said.
