One man was killed and two people injured in a shooting near a gas station in South Los Angeles early Thursday, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to a 76 gas station in the 1300 block of East Imperial Highway in the Willowbrook neighborhood at about 1:15 a.m., said Lt. Daniel Holguin of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Century Station.
Somebody drove one of the victims two miles to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southeast Community Police Station on West 108th Street, said LAPD Sgt. Aaron Skiver. The man was pronounced dead outside the station, he said.
The two injured people were taken to nearby hospitals, Holguin said. The victims’ identities had not been released.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday morning, authorities said.
Television news footage showed a blue police tent over a white Chrysler outside the LAPD Southeast station.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said the shooting was a car-to-car shooting, involving two people in the car and one pedestrian, KTLA reported. The injured people were a man and a woman, according to KTLA.
The investigation is being handled by the sheriff’s department, and authorities are urging anyone with information to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
