Two Pomona gang members charged with murder
Two members of a Pomona street gang have been charged with murder in connection with a killing in late August, authorities said.
The Pomona Police Department said that Deon Davis was shot to death on Aug. 31 in the 1200 block of Cromwell Street in a secluded pathway.
Davis, of San Bernardino, was chased down and shot, according to the coroner’s office.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:25 p.m., according to the L.A. Times Homicide Report.
Despite initially having few leads, police later said they were able to identify the suspects.
“Several search warrants were served by the Pomona Police SWAT team,” according to Pomona police. Nicolas Hempstead, 20, and David Adams, 21, were eventually arrested in connection with the crime.
