Officials said Brian Saylor, 31, assaulted Serrano inside the CVS Pharmacy on Rancho California Road on Monday. Officers responding to the call found the woman suffering from serious injuries. Store employees detained Saylor, and he was taken into custody.
Serrano’s family has established a GoFundMe page to raise $10,000 to help her family with funeral and medical expenses. Friends described Serrano as a loving person who cared for everyone she met.
“She helped many get through very difficult times in their lives,” the page reads.
The entire family is at a loss for words “as to what kind of a human would do something so cruel to such a loving and loved woman.”
