Drunk driving suspect killed after short pursuit with LAPD
A suspected drunk driver died Thursday afternoon after crashing into a big rig during a short pursuit with police in North Hollywood, officers said.
It is unclear whether the driver died at the scene or was taken to a hospital.
The roughly three-minute pursuit began about 1:22 p.m. when officers tried to stop the driver for allegedly driving drunk, said Officer Norma Eisenman, a spokeswoman with the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver didn’t stop and instead continued traveling on city streets, she said.
The driver appeared to have lost control and crashed into the big rig at the intersection of Magnolia Boulevard and Satsuma Avenue.
