Suspect arrested in stabbing death of AAA contractor in Pico Rivera
A man has been arrested in the stabbing death of a AAA contractor in Pico Rivera, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Tobias Ruben Cabrera, 39, was arrested Friday on suspicion of murder, according to a statement from the department.
The victim, Raymond Anthony Zabala III, was stabbed in the neck Tuesday in the 8400 block of Buhman Avenue as he was offering AAA assistance to a woman at her Pico Rivera home.
Authorities say Cabrera, who is the woman’s son, stabbed Zabala with a knife, then fled on a bicycle.
The motive for the stabbing is unclear.
Officials said Cabrera is a transient. He is being held in lieu of $1-million bail.
The victim is the sixth person to be killed in Pico Rivera in the last 12 months, according to the L.A. Times Homicide Report.
