‘Suge’ Knight hospitalized after fall in Las Vegas jail cell
Rap mogul “Suge” Knight was hospitalized after collapsing and hitting his head in a Las Vegas jail cell.
Rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight was hospitalized Friday after he passed out in a Las Vegas jail cell and hit his head, according to his attorney.
Knight, 49, was taken to the University Medical Center where doctors discovered a blood clot close to his lungs, his attorney, Richard Schonfeld, said.
Knight and comedian Micah “Katt” Williams were arrested last week and charged with one count of robbery after allegedly stealing a camera from a photographer in Beverly Hills in September.
The two are accused of chasing the photographer down an alley, where Williams “forcibly” grabbed her camera, according to authorities. The woman sustained minor injuries in the incident, police said.
Schonfeld said he expects Knight to post his bail of $75,000 in Las Vegas on Monday and return to Los Angeles to face the robbery charge.
In 2008, the controversial Death Row Records co-founder was arrested in Las Vegas for drug possession and aggravated assault, but pleaded guilty to a lesser battery charge the following year.
Schonfeld said Knight’s clot is probably related to being shot several times at a West Hollywood nightclub in August.
Prosecutors have said that Knight’s latest arrest, if it results in a conviction, could land him up to 30 years to life in prison because of an earlier conviction for assault with a deadly weapon.
