South Pasadena police fatally shoot man while serving a warrant in Burbank
A man was shot and killed by South Pasadena police investigators who were attempting to serve a warrant at a home in a Burbank neighborhood Thursday morning, authorities said.
The two investigators were following up on a criminal investigation and presented a court order to someone at the home in the 1400 block of Broadway just before 8:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Cindy Guillen, a spokeswoman for the Burbank Police Department.
“Something went wrong. They got involved in a shooting,” she said.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured.
It is unclear what led to the shooting. Details about the warrant and the subject of the criminal investigation were not released.
Burbank police detectives are investigating the shooting.
