4 shot in South L.A. while setting up for barbecue, police say
Four people who were setting up a barbecue in front of a South Los Angeles home were struck by gunfire Sunday morning, police said.
Multiple gunmen approached a home near 84th Street and Towne Avenue and opened fire about 9:45 a.m., LAPD Sgt. Scott Blackman said.
The four victims were taken to a hospital in serious condition, police said.
The Florence neighborhood shooting was believed to be related to gang activity in the area, police said.
None of the assailants have been taken into custody.
