Handcuffed woman drives toward deputy after being caught in sex act, officials say
A handcuffed woman slipped them from back to front, jumped into the driver’s seat of her car and drove toward a deputy after she was caught having sex in the vehicle as children walked by, San Bernardino County authorities said Friday.
Cristi Caraveo, 23, of Bloomington, was arrested on suspicion of assault on a police officer, fleeing the scene and indecent exposure, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Her partner, Emanuel Olivares, 24, of Grand Terrace, was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and obstructing an officer, sheriff’s officials said.
The incident began about 3:45 p.m. Thursday when residents reported seeing a man and woman having sex in the backseat of a vehicle in the 22000 block of Newport Avenue in Grand Terrace as children walked by, sheriff’s officials said.
A deputy approached the couple’s vehicle and asked them to get dressed and handcuffed them. As the deputy detained Olivares, Caraveo slipped her handcuffs from behind her back to the front and jumped into the driver’s seat of her car, sheriff’s officials said.
She charged toward the deputy, sheriff’s officials said. He suffered a cut to his left hand and needed stitches.
Deputies later found and arrested Caraveo at her home in Bloomington.
