A 34-year-old Sonoma County man was arrested Monday afternoon, hours after his parents were found dead inside their home near Sebastopol, authorities said.

Nathan Wilson’s dark gray truck was spotted about 4:30 p.m. along a road in Redwood Valley, and shortly after, he was arrested by Ukiah police officers, according to the Sonoma County sheriff’s office.

His arrest ended a brief manhunt that began earlier Monday.

Wilson’s uncle called authorities about 9:30 a.m. saying that his brother and sister-in-law, David Wilson and Adrianne Chapin, were lying on the floor in their home drenched with blood, sheriff’s officials said.

Nathan Wilson was also covered with blood, the uncle told the authorities, authorities say.

Deputies responded to the home along Sexton Road and found the couple with “multiple wounds from a sharp object,” authorities say. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s unclear what motivated the killings.

Wilson’s mother spoke of the difficulties she and her husband had with their son and his sister, friend Jane Eagle told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

“She was tied up in knots about her kids,” said Eagle, noting that Nathan had been previously hospitalized for mental health issues.

“For the last two years, her life has been completely structured around trying to help her kids,” Eagle said.

Nathan Wilson was being held in a Mendocino County jail awaiting extradition to Sonoma County. It’s unclear if he was being represented by an attorney.
