L.A. Unified official suspected of inappropriate contact with minor
A Los Angeles Unified School District administrator is suspected of attempting to meet a minor for the purpose of committing lewd acts, authorities said Monday.
Robert Nagai, 48, was arrested Thursday in Van Nuys. He is a former assistant principal of Hale Middle School in Woodland Hills. Parents of children at the school have been informed by letter of an administrator’s arrest, officials said.
Los Angeles police made the arrest after an investigation in which detectives discovered that Nagai, who lives in Chatsworth, “had an ongoing inappropriate relationship with a former student,” according to authorities.
Nagai is free on $75,000 bail. He has been suspended from his position at L.A. Unified.
Detectives say that although there is no information to suggest any additional alleged victims, anyone who may have information regarding this matter is asked to contact Topanga Area Det. F. Avila at (818) 756-3375.
