Santa Monica police try to identify suspects in arson fire
Santa Monica police were seeking the public’s help Thursday night in identifying three suspects wanted in connection with an arson fire.
The blaze broke out shortly before 2 p.m. on Monday near an alley in the 600 block of 11th Street. The fire damaged a residence and property owned by a utility company, the Santa Monica Police Department said.
“Numerous surveillance cameras in the area captured the subjects in the alley running from where the fire had started,” police officials said of the suspects.
They are described as teens who are white or Latino, police said. Two were girls, and the male was carrying a red-and-yellow skateboard. They have medium builds with brown and dark brown hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Robert D’Andrea at (310) 458-2201 Ext. 6679 or Sgt. Henry Ramirez at (310) 458-8453.
People can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 782-7643 and be eligible for a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
