Man fatally shot in quarrel at Santa Ana pool hall; gunman at large
A gunman is on the loose after killing a man at a pool hall in Santa Ana Tuesday morning, according to authorities.
The shooting occurred about 1:20 a.m. inside the Hidalgo bar in the 1800 block of West 4th Street, police said.
Witnesses told police two men were arguing inside the bar before the shooting, NBC4 reported. The victim was shot multiple times in the torso and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Orange County coroner has not yet identified the victim and no arrests have been made. Police said this isn’t the first time they’ve had incidents at Hidalgo bar.
“In the 30-plus years I’ve been here, there have been several incidents at this bar. But, for the most part, it’s just like any other bar,” Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna told NBC4.
