Police hunt for gunman who shot at San Bernardino police officer
Police are looking for a gunman who shot at a San Bernardino police officer Friday morning.
The shooting occurred about 12:15 a.m. in the 2300 block of Rialto Street. The officer was westbound on Rialto when he heard a gunshot and his passenger-side window shattered. The officer was cut by some glass but was otherwise uninjured.
Police swarmed the area but no shooter was found. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
This is the third officer-involved shooting in San Bernardino County in less than a month.
A sheriff’s deputy was ambushed while serving an eviction notice July 16 and a police officer was wounded July 26 when he was shot during a routine traffic stop. The deputy and officer survived the shootings.
