Police fatally shoot burglary suspect in Hollywood Hills
Los Angeles police shot and killed a burglary suspect in a residential neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 3:35 p.m. near the intersection of Courtney Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, said Sgt. Robert Ward of the LAPD’s Hollywood station.
About an hour earlier, police received a report that a resident had encountered a burglar inside a home. The burglar left, and officers set up a perimeter and searched the area, Ward said.
A short time later, neighbors reported hearing multiple shots fired, Ward said.
A handgun and items stolen from the home were found on the suspect after the shooting, police said.
