Pedestrian killed in Encino hit-and-run
Authorities were searching Monday for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Encino.
The incident occurred at about 12:15 a.m. when a pedestrian was struck near the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Gaviota Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was not in a crosswalk and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said the driver fled the scene in what was described as a sport utility vehicle. The vehicle had a possible, partial license plate number of “6EW237,” police said.
