Accident prompts closure of Orange County Metrolink
Commuters scrambled for alternate transportation early Friday as Metrolink officials shut down all Orange County routes after a freight train struck a person on the tracks, according to the company’s Twitter feed.
The closed lines extended past Norwalk, following an incident involving a BNSF Railway Co. train and the passenger at about 5 a.m.
An L.A. County sheriff spokeswoman said her agency had not been contacted regarding the incident. Calls to Metrolink officials have not been returned.
