Pasadena police officer accidentally fires gun, wounds colleague
The Pasadena Police Department has opened an internal investigation after an officer accidentally fired his weapon, wounding another officer in the leg.
The shooting occurred at the department’s parking structure as the officers were finishing a shift Friday evening, the department said in a statement Monday.
The injured officer suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was treated at a hospital.
Pasadena homicide detectives investigated the incident and determined that no crime occurred, the statement said.
The officer who fired his weapon was placed on paid administrative leave.
