Deaths of married couple in Whittier investigated as murder-suicide
Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were found in a Whittier home Thursday morning.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the home in the 13500 block of Lanning Drive at 10:30 a.m. to check on the welfare of the residents, said Deputy Ryan Rouzan. Once there, deputies were met by a close family friend who said she had not seen the married couple for a few days.

After the friend gave deputies a key to the house, they entered and found the husband laying on the bed, with a gunshot wound to the upper torso that appeared to be self-inflicted. A shotgun lay nearby, authorities said.
The wife’s body was also inside the home, with a single gunshot wound to the upper torso. The wife, identified as the victim, and the husband, identified as the suspect, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The man and woman have not yet been identified.
