Multi-vehicle crash on 91 Freeway in Santa Fe Springs leaves 1 dead, 1 injured
A multi-vehicle crash on the westbound 91 Freeway in Santa Fe Springs early Sunday left one person dead and another injured, and closed all lanes of the freeway for an hour, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident log described one vehicle as a black Chevrolet sedan, which had overturned in the center divider, and noted that a person was seen crawling out of it. A Toyota Corolla was also involved.
The fatality was a male, said CHP Officer Monica Posada, but there were no other details about him. The injured person was taken to a hospital, she added.
Posada said possibly three vehicles were involved in the crash, which took place just east of the 605 Freeway and was reported at 2:24 a.m. A Sigalert was issued for all lanes at 2:43 a.m.
All lanes were reopened at 5:16 a.m.
