Search is underway for a missing couple in the Northern California mountains
Reporting from Pollock Pines, Calif. — Rescue crews are searching for a couple who went missing after their vehicle became stuck in snow while driving in a mountainous area of El Dorado County.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office says the husband and wife, both in their 60s, were last heard from Sunday afternoon.
Sacramento television station KCRA reports the couple went for a drive in their white truck Saturday morning. Relatives reported them missing after they called to say they were stuck in the snow in the rural mountainous area of Wentworth Springs and Ice House roads.
Officials say the California Highway Patrol Air Patrol is assisting with the search.
