Man shot to death in Florence-Firestone area of South L.A.
A man was shot to death Tuesday night in the Florence-Firestone area of South Los Angeles, authorities said.
The man, who has not been publicly identified, was shot about 8:40 p.m. in the 1900 block of East 71st Street and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The department in the release said “there is no further information at this time.”

Coroner’s officials Wednesday morning did not release the man’s name because his family has not yet been notified.
This is the sixth homicide this year in the Florence-Firestone neighborhood, according to data from the L.A. Times Homicide Report.
