Man shot to death Wednesday in South L.A.
A man was shot to death early Wednesday in the Florence-Firestone neighborhood of South Los Angeles, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 6:05 a.m. in the 6800 block of Compton Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was not immediately identified and no further details were provided.
There have been 219 homicides within 2 miles of the Wednesday shooting since Jan. 1, 2007, according to the The Times’ Homicide Report.
