Man fatally struck by two vehicles in Huntington Beach is identified
Orange County coroner officials on Monday identified a 28-year-old man who was fatally struck by two vehicles in Huntington Beach.
Matthew Aguilar of Costa Mesa was pronounced dead Saturday after he was struck by two vehicles in the northbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway, just south of Brookhurst Street.
According to the Huntington Beach police, Aguilar was walking along the roadway when he was hit around 4:30 a.m. by a silver 2003 Cadillac SLS. The man was then hit by a second car, which did not stop at the scene as required by law. Police said they didn’t know why Aguilar was on the road.
The driver of the Cadillac, a 55-year-old Huntington Beach man, was interviewed and released after the incident. Police are seeking to identify the second motorist.
