Teen cyclist critically injured by hit-and-run driver in Long Beach
A 15-year-old riding his bicycle in Long Beach is in critical condition after he was struck by a driver who fled the scene, authorities said.
The teenager was riding his bicycle westbound on 61st Street about 4:55 p.m. Thursday when he rode through a stop sign and was hit by a car going northbound on Linden Avenue, said Long Beach police Sgt. Aaron Eaton.
The driver of the car fled the scene and remains at large. Police are asking anyone with information to call (562) 570-7355.
The teenager, who was not identified, was taken to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
