Laguna Beach police search for alleged rapist
Laguna Beach police are searching for a 26-year-old man accused of raping a woman in her home last month.
Authorities obtained an arrest warrant this week for Babak “Bobby” Azadgilani but have not been able to find him at his Laguna Niguel home or at his place of work, according to Laguna Beach Police Capt. Jason Kravetz.
Kravetz said the sexual assault occurred late on the afternoon of April 21 in the woman’s home in Laguna Beach. He said Azadgilani and the woman knew each other.
After the alleged assault, Azadgilani fled on his 2010 BMW motorcycle with California license plate 20M4237, Kravetz said.
Police hope releasing Azadgilani’s photo will lead to his arrest and possibly allow other potential victims to step forward.
Anyone with information can call Laguna Beach police at (949) 497-0701.
