Justin Bieber: ‘I’m young and I make mistakes’
A battery investigation involving a neighbor, walking shirtless through airports and hotels, and donning a gas mask on London streets, it’s all a part of being young and making mistakes, Justin Bieber says.
In an interview with Us Weekly, the 19-year-old pop star chalks up some of his recent public missteps to youthful inexperience.
“I’m young and I make mistakes. That’s a part of growing up,” Bieber said. “I mess up sometimes. It’s part of growing up.”
Despite his age, Beiber is facing a very adult situation: an investigation that he battered his Calabasas neighbor.
“The neighbor has complained that Mr. Bieber spit on him and made some threats,” Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told The Times. “Mr. Bieber’s people say that it did not happen. Obviously, our detectives will determine what happened and take appropriate action.”
Sheriff’s deputies went to Bieber’s home on Tuesday after he had an argument with his neighbor about the singer and his entourage allegedly speeding in the neighborhood.
Bieber did not specifically address the accusations in his US Weekly interview, but did speak about his many critics.
“This business can break you down, but I have a strong team around me, and my family and all the fans,” he said. “The love overcomes the negativity. I’m not perfect but I’m growing and trying to be better every day. That’s part of life.”
