Man sought in Huntington Beach robbery, sexual assault
Huntington Beach police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man who robbed and sexually assaulted a woman.
Police said the attack occurred Oct. 3 around 1 a.m. as the woman was returning to her home near Bolsa Chica Road and Warner Avenue.
The man was armed with a gun and approached the woman from behind. He grabbed her and covered her mouth with his hand, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
“The suspect was in possession of a handgun and told the victim not to scream,” police officials said in a statement.
The woman resisted, and the two fell to the ground. Police said the man assaulted and robbed her before fleeing.
The man was described as Latino; 5 feet, 7 inches tall; and 22 to 26 years old. He has a medium build and was wearing a black, short-sleeved T-shirt with white and blue designs and blue jeans, police said.
