Hit-and-run driver sought in Studio City fatality
A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a 35-year-old pedestrian as he walked across the street in Studio City on Saturday night, police said.
The victim, a Santa Monica man whose name has not been released, was walking northbound across Ventura Boulevard at Fairway Avenue about 11:45 p.m. when he was struck by a white Mercedes driving east, police said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mercedes sped away and police were still searching for the suspect Sunday morning, said Officer Bill McConnell of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
