2 Northern California high school teens arrested for alleged sex tape
Two teenage boys in Northern California have been arrested in connection with distributing child pornography after making a sex tape with a teen girl without her knowledge, authorities said.
One of the high school boys filmed the other with a female student on Oct. 10 as they engaged in sex acts, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement released Saturday. All three teens were students at Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs.
A sheriff’s deputy assigned to work at the high school learned about the sex tape Wednesday and launched an investigation.
Deputies later arrested the two male teens on suspicion of possessing and distributing child pornography, sexual exploitation of a child and conspiracy to commit a felony crime, authorities said.
The girl apparently did not realize she was being filmed, KTXL-TV reported.
When school officials became aware of the video, they immediately began an internal investigation.
“El Dorado Union High School District’s top priority is always the safety and well-being of our students and staff,” the district said.
Following the arrests, the sheriff’s office advised teens that “decisions they make now could affect them negatively in the future.”
