Double shooting in Hermosa Beach investigated as murder-suicide, authorities say
A shooting that left two people dead in Hermosa Beach on Thursday morning appears to be a murder-suicide, authorities said.
Hermosa Beach police officers responding to a report of gunshots in the 100 block of Herondo Street about 6:30 a.m. found a man and woman in their 20s dead, police said.
The 25-year-old man shot himself after shooting the woman, who was in her 20s, county coroner spokesman Ed Winter said.
The couple were in a relationship that had ended recently, the Daily Breeze reported. The woman was renting a room in a duplex, and neighbors reported the shooting, the paper reported.
The identities of the pair have not been released. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
