Authorities investigating fatal stabbing of woman, 22, in Hawthorne
Authorities are investigating the fatal stabbing of a woman inside her mother’s apartment in Hawthorne.
About 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Naquia Catching’s mother walked into her apartment in the 4800 block of West 118th Street and found her stabbed to death, according to authorities.
She called 911 and Hawthorne police and paramedics rushed to the home. Catching, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives are aiding in the investigation, officials said.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
There have been 64 homicides within two miles of that address since 2007, according to the Los Angeles Times crime mapping database.
