Woman remains in grave condition after Glendale hit-and-run
Investigators in Glendale on Friday were searching for the driver who struck two older women in a crosswalk and then fled the night before.
One woman, 73, remained in grave condition and another woman, 59, was being treated for serious injuries, said Glendale Police Department Sgt. Tom Lorenz.
Lorenz said the driver ran a red light Thursday night while heading east on West California Avenue and struck the two pedestrians as they tried to California at Central Avenue.
He said the two women were in a crosswalk when they were hit. The car involved was described as a four-door white or gray compact.
It was the second hit-and-run collision involving pedestrians in Glendale this week.
On Wednesday afternoon, a 75-year-old woman was also left in critical condition after she was struck while exiting a parked vehicle in the 1100 block of Western Avenue, according to Glendale police.
The vehicle involved was described as a white utility van.
