Man allegedly points gun at girl selling cookies door-to-door
A Temecula man who allegedly pointed a gun at a girl who knocked on his door to sell cookies on Sunday has been arrested, authorities said.
The girl, described only as a minor, was going door-to-door selling in the area around the 31000 block of Strawberry Tree Lane when she and her father approached John Dodrill’s house.
After the girl knocked on his door, Dodrill, 59, allegedly answered with a gun pointed at her, according to Riverside County sheriff’s officials.
Her father, who witnessed the alleged incident, called police and Dodrill was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities said they confiscated a weapon as evidence.
