Man found shot to death while sitting in car in Hawaiian Gardens
A man suffered a fatal gunshot wound Sunday while sitting in a car in Hawaiian Gardens, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 12200 block of 224th Street about 9:20 a.m. on a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, said Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez.
They discovered a man sitting in the driver’s seat of a green compact car with a gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name was not released. Sheriff’s officials are investigating.
There have been two other slayings within a one-mile radius of Sunday’s incident during the last 12 months, according to The Times’ Homicide Report, an online database.
