Person dies after a six-story fall at San Jose State University library
Reporting from San Jose — A San Jose State University official says a person died after falling six stories inside a campus library.
San Jose State University spokeswoman Pat Lopes Harris told the San Jose Mercury News that the person who died Monday was not immediately identified.
She said there was no evidence of foul play.
University officials said in a statement that the person who died was neither a San Jose State student nor employee.
The library, which serves the campus and the general public, was closed after the fatal fall. It’s expected to reopen Tuesday.
The University Police Department and the San Jose Police Department are investigating.
