Earthquake: 3.1 quake strikes near San Ramon, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.1 earthquake was reported Saturday morning in San Ramon, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:34 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 5.6 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was three miles from Danville, four miles from Dublin, six miles from Alamo and 60 miles from Sacramento.

In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
