Domino’s Pizza employee arrested in stabbing of customer angered by delivery ‘delay’

A Domino’s Pizza delivery man was arrested Sunday in Covina on suspicion of stabbing a customer during a dispute over an order, police said.

Michael Charles Parker, 31, was making a delivery to a residence in the 600 block of North Mangrove Avenue about 11:30 p.m. Saturday when he got into a dispute with the customer, who was angered over the “extended delay of the pizza delivery,” said Lt. Dave Foster of the Covina Police Department.

The customer, a 20-year-old man, was stabbed in the neck and wrist, Foster said. The Los Angeles County Fire Department transported him to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was in stable condition, Foster said.

Parker fled the scene. Police contacted him at the pizza shop where he worked, and he was arrested about 1 a.m. Sunday, according to jail records. He was booked on one count of assault with a deadly weapon. He posted bail of $30,000 and was released about 8 a.m., Foster said.

Parker is scheduled to be arraigned March 21. He could not be reached for comment.

Police did not know the length of the alleged delay in the delivery. An unidentified person answering the phone at the Domino’s Pizza in Covina, about half a mile from the site of the stabbing, said the shop had no comment.
