Man arrested in double-killing in Corona
A 22-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with the killing of his father and a home security repairman and the injuring of his uncle, police said.
Brandon Willie Martin was arrested after a short vehicle pursuit ended in the 800 block of Derby Street in Corona, police said. A police dog found Martin hiding in the backyard of a home.
Officers were called about 6:35 p.m. Thursday by family member who reported a man was not breathing in a home in the 1000 block of Winthrop Drive, according to Corona police Sgt. R. Brent Nelson.
Police found Brandon’s father, Michael Martin, 64, of Corona, and Barry Swanson, 62, of Riverside dead inside the home, according to Corona police. Swanson was a subcontractor for ADT Security Systems.
Brandon’s uncle, Ricky Lee Anderson, 51, of Corona, suffered life threatening injuries. He was taken to an area hospital, where he remained Friday on life support.
Police don’t known how the men were killed or injured, Nelson said. A motive for the killings was not known, he added.
But police said a truck was stolen from the home.
Brandon was later seen driving the stolen truck. That’s when police tried to stop him, but he ran away from them.
