Suspect dies in deputy-involved shooting in Compton
A suspect died in a deputy-involved shooting Thursday morning, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
The shooting occurred at 5:51 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Arbutus Street, officials said.
The suspect’s name and gender were not yet been released, pending family notification, said Los Angeles County coroner’s office spokesman Ed Winter.
No deputies were injured in the shooting, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Department.
The circumstances of the shooting were under investigation by multiple agencies, as is standard practice, the statement said.
