Man dies after being dragged 75 feet in Compton hit and run
A driver who hit a man crossing the street and dragged his body 75 feet was being sought Wednesday by L.A. County sheriff’s investigators.
The incident occurred about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday when a 65-year-old Compton resident was hit at Alameda and Oaks streets by a white sedan, possibly a Pontiac or Chevrolet, Sheriff’s Department officials said.
The man was dragged 75 feet before coming to a rest and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was being withheld by authorities until his family could be notified.
