Girl, 7, wounded in car-to-car shooting in Palmdale; three in custody
A 7-year-old girl was in critical condition Wednesday after being wounded in a car-to-car shooting in Palmdale, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at 12:50 a.m. at the intersection of Fort Tejon Road and Pearblossom Highway, said Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Glenn Brandon. The girl was in the car with her family when another vehicle pulled up alongside and one or more of its occupants opened fire. The assailants then sped off, Brandon said.
The girl was struck at least once, Brandon said. She was taken to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition. She was not identified.
Three suspects were taken into custody and their vehicle was impounded, officials said. Their names were not released.
“A description was put out and police officers located the vehicle and did a felony traffic stop,” he said.
An investigation is ongoing.
