Child believed to be about 2 found wandering streets of Lynwood
A small child believed to be about 2 years old was found wandering the streets of Lynwood, authorities said Thursday evening.
A tow truck driver spotted the child in the afternoon walking near Imperial Highway and Elm Avenue, said Lt. Dan Nathan of the Sheriff’s Department’s Century Station.
The driver alerted sheriff’s deputies, who took the child to the Century Station. Deputies were able to contact the child’s mother and grandmother Wednesday evening.
They came to the station, where deputies were interviewing them and investigating how the child ended up alone on the streets, Nathan said.
