Mother killed, father wounded in car-to-car shooting in L.A.
Police say the mother of two young children was killed and her husband was wounded when their car was riddled with bullets as the family drove through South Los Angeles.
Sgt. Thomas Bojorquez says the father was driving, the mother was in the passenger seat and the kids were in the back seat when the shooting occurred early Monday.
Investigators say the gunfire came from another vehicle.
The woman died at the scene. The wounded man is hospitalized and expected to survive. A 5-year-old child suffered cuts from broken glass, and a 3-year-old was unhurt.
Officials have no description of the vehicle or suspects.
Bojorquez did not identify a possible motive but says the shooting was likely gang-related.
