Boy found on South L.A. street is reunited with family, police say
A 5-year-old boy found on a South Los Angeles street has been reunited with his family, police said Monday night.
Los Angeles police said that the boy’s mother apparently had a medical emergency and that the child may have wandered from his home. Family members saw the boy’s picture on television news reports and contacted authorities, police said.
Named Antonio or Anthony, the boy was found early Monday near 73rd Street and Avalon Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Police said earlier Monday that the boy told workers with the county Department of Children and Family Services that his mother got on a bus and left.
On Monday night, police said that there appeared to be no criminal violations but that detectives were still investigating how the boy ended up on the street.
