Bob Barker trips on L.A. sidewalk and injures his head
Bob Barker, longtime host of “The Price Is Right,” tripped and fell Tuesday, resulting in several cuts to his head and a visit to the hospital, authorities said.
Barker was walking outside his home in the 1800 block of Outpost Drive in the Hollywood Hills when he tripped on a sidewalk and tumbled, striking his head on the pavement, Los Angeles police Officer Ricardo Hernandez said.
LAPD officers witnessed the fall, which occurred about 10:30 a.m., and called for an ambulance, Hernandez said. He did not say whether the sidewalk was uneven.
The 91-year-old was treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and released.
Publicist Henri Bollinger told the Associated Press that Barker received stitches for his head injuries but managed to walk on his own out of the hospital.
The injury has made Barker feel discouraged, Bollinger said.
“He’s upset he can’t work out and take his walks. Considering his age, he’s in pretty good shape,” Bollinger told the AP.
Barker retired in 2007 after hosting the game show “The Price Is Right” for three and a half decades. He had previously done an 18-year stint as host of the quiz show “Truth or Consequences.”
